COmmunity Health Services / Nursing Mission

Public Health Nurses and Health Educators work to protect and improve the health of people where they live, learn, work, and play. They provide education that promotes wellness and encourage healthy choices and behaviors. Public Health Nurses help residents gain access to care and assist with care coordination. Public Health knows that the foundation for a “healthy” community is “healthy” people.

Community Health Services / nursing

Nursing hours provide an opportunity for residents to have blood pressures taken, hearing tested, and pregnancy tests completed on a “walk-in” basis. Individuals can also have medical questions and concerns addressed by a nurse either in person or over the phone. Immunizations and TB tests are also available by appointment during the nursing hour time frame. Established Reproductive Health & Wellness clients may pick-up oral contraceptives during nursing hours.
