Maggie Wielinski is the epidemiologist for seven counties in Northwest Ohio, but she is housed at the Fulton County Health Department. The seven counties include Fulton, Henry, Defiance, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Williams
An epidemiologist studies diseases of all sorts, especially infectious ones, and identifies those most at risk and how to prevent it spreading to others.
In the current climate, we’re all doing our best to keep COVID-19 from spreading through the guidance of medical experts, such as social distancing, vaccination, staying home when you are ill and hand washing. As new information and guidance comes out on COVID or any communicable disease, Maggie shares this information and recommendations to the nursing staff to keep Fulton County residents as healthy as possible.
